Embroidery Class Reviews

“Thank you for the fabulous embroidery course. Your two Samplers of Seduction courses were absolutely wonderful!  They were well researched, clearly presented and always so inspirational.  I constantly use the videos you sent as an "aide memoire" for the various stitches and know that in the coming months I will return to them again and again as I start new embroidery projects. Your lessons were so calming and were without doubt the highlight of my week throughout the autumn.”

“Rebecca creates a really warm and supportive atmosphere in her classes - not always easy to do on Zoom! She is an excellent teacher and really inspiring - although I do now spend several hours a week looking at sequins online. The classes are really well paced and gave me lots of confidence to try new things. Rebecca is such an expert and her knowledge of tips and tricks makes learning embroidery really accessible.”

“I really love your teaching Rebecca. You are so calm and patient and to permit to make ‘mistakes’ or not look for perfection like old schooldays. I do appreciate and value that more than you could know. Thanks too for all the tips and tricks and info.”

“Samplers of Seduction 1 has been a wonderful start in learning embroidery skills. Each workshop is clearly structured to be progressive and easily follows one to the next. The sessions start with lovely images to inspire and draw you into what will follow. Rebecca introduces a 'family' of stitches that are clearly demonstrated and explained. Plenty of time is allowed for you to practice and ask questions. Students are encouraged to send photos of their work during the week for feedback and help. Altogether this has been a great experience and I can't wait for Samplers 2 to start.”

“If you would like to try how embroidering feels like, then I would suggest this course by Rebecca. She explains every stitch so good, that it is really easy to follow her. Also the complicated stitches seem easy with her explanation. She is really patient with her students and offered to support when you send her a picture about your problem. Rebecca is a fantastic teacher, patient and calm. She has wonderful stories to tell about her time in the couture ateliers of Paris and gained so much experience which makes the course so valuable for us. I only want to try a little bit embroidery and now I’m hooked. Thank you Rebecca for the great classes.”

“It was a delightful hour spent in your company and despite the fact that I’ve been embroidering for a while, it was very good to go back to the beginning and pick up tricks along the way.

I would heartily recommend this course as Rebecca takes you very carefully and patiently through the stitch process and as a beginner her style is perfect! Very calm, with no pressure to aim for perfection as the process takes time and patience! Wonderful way to spend a chilly winter evening!”

“Rebecca was an amazingly talented embroiderer, and very willing to share all her knowledge and experience. She was kind, thoughtful and encouraging to students. She filled the class hour with just the right amount of lesson time and practice time. Take away videos are a great addition so that I will be able to refer to them in the future.”

“Really enjoyed this online course. Rebecca made sure there was a lovely, friendly vibe to the sessions and the time sped by. Since completing the course I have finished a bought kit and drafted a design - neither are perfect but Rebecca gave me the confidence to try. Thank you.”

“ I never thought I would be involved in an international Zoom sewing circle. But Rebecca Devaney showed us the way across two continents with skill, patience, and video close-ups. She covered the basics plus some advanced stitches — the tools I needed to use embroidery as a calming form of contemplation and art.”

“Many thanks for the wonderful course - you could not have made it more clear and easy to follow.  Your course was in a different league to previous embroidery courses I have done which were difficult to follow. Your course was in a different league - so thank you!”
